New Hamburg's 150th Celebration Was a Day To Remember

By Paul Knowles, President, New Hamburg Board of Trade

October 01, 2008

The New Hamburg Board of Trade, sponsor of the New Hamburg 150th Anniversary Celebrations on Sept. 20, want to thank all who made the day such a success. We are especially grateful to the organizing committee: chairperson Nancy Knowles, Cheryl Gordijk, Kristen Hahn, Kathryn Ritz, Karen Weber, Paul Mackie and Carl Richardson.

Thanks, too, to all the volunteers who worked that day, and to the artisans who came to town to show their craft.

Without the more than 40 participants in the parade - businesses, schools, churches and community organizations - there would have been no parade. And without the crowd that lined the streets, there would have been little reason to hold it. Thanks to all.

We're proud of our community and our role in it, and we enjoyed the opportunity to provide leadership in this special celebration.
