New Hamburg Board of Trade General Membership Meeting

1) Meeting attended by 35 members and catered by Bellzy's.
2) Dieter Walch, of Alpine Plant Food, won the 50/50 draw of $58.50.
3) Our guest speaker, Ken Seiling - Regional Chair, Region of Waterloo - was introduced by Paul Knowles and thanked by Steve Wagler.
4) Approval of minutes from the previous meetings: moved by Dave Seyler; second: Ed Lemont. Carried.
5) Financial update: Our current bank balance is $32,824.00. Our accounts for the past 24 months will be audited in December 2009 by John Hanson and Ed Lemont.
6) The Christmas Parade, which is scheduled for December 6, 2009, requires volunteers. Please contact Nancy Knowles or Cheryl Gordijk: www.newhamburg.ca/santa. We are returning to the tradition of Santa giving out goodies at the fire hall after the parade. Some of the goodies and supplies will be donated by Sobeys and by MacKay's No Frills. Volunteers are requested after November's general meeting to stuff the goodie bags.
7) New Hamburg Bucks expired September 30, 2009. If you have any, please redeem them through Karen Weber at Imagine Travel.
8) The nominating committee will report at November's meeting, and there will be the swearing-in of the new executive.
9) New Business: A bench will be dedicated in memory of Mary Knowles, hopefully within the next month.
10) Kathryn Ritz passed on the thanks of Megan Moore, who was the Board of Trade-sponsored candidate for the New Hamburg Fall Fair 2009.
