New Hamburg Board of Trade General Membership Meeting

1) Welcome by President Paul Knowles
2) Moment of silent thanksgiving and toast
3) Dinner, catered by Memé's
4) 50/50 draw was won by Tom Hinz, $87.00
5) Introduction of guests
6) Approval of minutes: Nigel Gordijk, seconded by Kevin Russell, carried
7) Intro of Mike Morrice, Executive Director of Sustainable Waterloo as guest speaker; introduced by Paul Knowles Mike Morrice is executive director of Sustainable Waterloo, an innovative, not-for-profit enterprise he co-founded in June 2008. Sustainable Waterloo's self-defined role is "environmental leadership in Waterloo Region." The company's first focus is to work with regional businesses to reduce carbon emissions. The ultimate goal? To improve the ecological impact of business, right across the board.

9) Paul Knowles thanked Mark Murray and his crew for putting up and taking down Christmas Decorations, and Bob Zehr for supervising the Waterwheel
10) Budget presentation: - financial reporting is pending - it was noted that we have added $2000 for potential waterwheel repair and maintenance. Acceptance of the 2010 budget was moved by Larry Zehr, seconded by Nigel Gordijk. Carried.
11) Director Responsibilities: The following assignments have been filled:
- Kristen Hahn and Meredith Hagen are sharing responsibilities as recording secretaries.
- Steve Wagler - Treasurer and VP
- Deitmar Walch - Water wheel
- Kristen Hahn - Retail
- Nick Cressman - Tourism
- Nigel Gordijk, Tom Hinz and Deb Myers - Advertising
- Tom Hinz - Membership communications
- Chris Spotswood and Steve Wagler - Membership
- Doug Brenneman - Bylaws
- Golf Tournament - Paul Knowles
Note: We still need someone to head the Duck Race. 12) New Hamburg Bucks. Executive will poll members of the BoT on whether to continue with the program, and how it should be managed.
13) New Business: BoT needs a new computer, a resolution to the telephone problem. Will look in to setting up a credit card account.
